Cole Murray Cape Kidnappers Trail Run – 32km event – 3 October 2020

Brief History. Everyone seems to quote this passage which is so very real about the event course – “The course is set on private land and includes trails by windswept beaches, native forest, waterfalls, river gorges and stunning coastal farmland”. See some photos at the bottom of this article. Bib Collection. Very smooth from the Napier War Memorial Centre, 48 Marine Parade, Napier. Race Order. The event is organised into five categories.

GJ Gardner Maraetai Half Marathon – 15 March 2020

Brief History. The GJ Gardner Maraetai Half Marathon is now in its third year and is the fourth race in the Auckland Half Marathon Series 2020⁄21. Bib Collection. The race bibs for this event were mailed out by snail post – which although such a simple thing is such a great stress reliever on race day. Race Order. The event is organised into four race distance categories by different coloured race bibs.

Ports of Auckland Round the Bays – 8 March 2020

Brief History. The Round the Bays event was started in 1972 (now in its 48th year) by the Auckland Joggers Club and was organised by Colin Kay and Eric Woods. On the 17th March, 12,000 participants showed up for the inaugural event, which has now become New Zealand’s largest fun run. Bib Collection. Very smooth once you find the place just off to the side of Victoria Park or on the day at the Information tent on Tangihua street which would be easier to find.
